Emmanuel Buschiazzo ,

Emmanuel Buschiazzo is one of the pioneers and fierce promoters of Specialty Coffee in France, though he used to be a research scientist in countries such as New Zealand, Canada and the USA. He holds a PhD in biology and has published studies on creatures such as conifer trees, corals and platypuses ! Seeking to visit every single coffee shop in town along his travels, he realized that he loved coffee much more than the average customer and his lab coat, and finally gave up his academic career in 2012 to embark on a new adventure.

He first trained as a barista and worked in a few coffee shops in Paris, but he quickly took on the task of becoming a barista trainer himself. Always up to date with the scientific literature, though now focused essentially on coffee science, he got himself the nickname of Dr.Barista which is till to this day how you can find him on social media. He is the founder of the Réseau des Baristas de France, a non-profit association that promotes the barista craft in France and organizes the French Aeropress Championships. He is also involved with the French branch of the Specialty Coffee Association. He is an Authorized SCA Trainer (AST) for Barista Skills and Brewing, he has judged, competed and coached other competitors many times in National Coffee Championships, and is currently the National Education Coordinator.

Although he started entrepreneurship as a freelance barista and trainer, he teamed up in 2015 with a fellow Parisian barista to create La Claque (literally, 'The Strike', or 'The Slap'), a company that offers top-notch coffee catering and coffee training, and even sells fun coffee merch. They also became the French Ambassadors for La Marzocco in France in 2020. Although he is today the sole owner of the company, Emmanuel keeps providing private events with the finest grade of specialty coffee across France with his mobile espresso bars and he intends to develop La Claque's activity with a brand new training space in Paris and to shake up the specialty coffee scene in Nice, on the French Riviera, where he grew up and recently came back to live.

Emmanuel loves sharing his knowledge and passion for coffee, he is dedicated to work with other professionals and coffee lovers to learn more and experiment about coffee and everything and anything that revolves around coffee. When it comes to the ingredients he chooses, he selects them meticulously in order to offer the best possible products to his consumers.
It was therefore obvious for him to choose the Alpro Barista range, both for the diversity it offers, but also for its quality, its taste and its technicality.
Passionate about his job, he does not hesitate to share his best practices and his favorite products and he always brings cartons of Oat by default, even if his customers did not ask for it!
