A plant-based riff on a creamy combo, from Russia with love.

The Essentials


  • 1 Espresso
  • 50ml Alpro Whipping
  • 100ml Alpro Barista Oat or Alpro Barista Soya
  • 1 pump (10ml) caramel syrup


  • Jug
  • Espresso machine
  • Cappuccino cup

The method: in 3 simple steps

Step 1

Pour all ingredients into the jug.

Step 2

Steam to 65ºC.

Step 3

Pour into the cappuccino cup and serve.

Created for, and named after, Russian ‘Coffee Bean’ regular Rafael Timerbaev in the 1990s, this was originally made with espresso, dairy cream and sugar (sometimes vanilla sugar). Now a firm favourite in Russia and winning fans all over the world.
